The Embassy of Hungary in Manila is the focal point for the increasingly strengthening ties between Hungary and the Philippines, as well as accredited countries from the region: Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands.

The website of the Embassy aims to be your one stop resource to access information about the activities of the Embassy – and Hungary generally – in the country and in relation to cultural opportunities, business, education and that we offer. The consular section of the Embassy is open to our citizens and customers wishing to engage with Hungary.

Hungary and the Philippines have established diplomatic relations in 1973, and our bilateral ties grew substantially in the past five years, due to the important interest of businesspersons, students, researchers and artists to cooperate in their respective fields. ONLINE CAREER NETWORKING EVENT

Resumption of long-term visa applications

The Implementation legislation of the new Immigration Law in Hungary entered into force. Hence, appointments for long-term residence permit application submission are now open with the VFS in Makati and in Cebu. Appointments can be made here: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/phl/en/hun/ Please note that applications have to be submitted via new application forms, which can be accessed from the homepage of the Immigration of Hungary http://oif.gov.hu/index.php?lang=en by clicking on the "Residency in Hungary ” option at the top left corner. Applications submitted using the old forms will not be accepted! The website of the Immigration of Hungary contains a brief description of each residency purpose and the list of documents to be submitted as well as the downloadable application forms. The Immigration of Hungary is continuously updating its homepage, therefore please check regularly the above mentioned homepage for new information.

Expanding science and technology cooperation

Hungary and the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific and Technological Cooperation on 8 April 2022 in Manila.

Lifting of travel restrictions and visa applications

travel restrictions to Hungary previously imposed due to the epidemic situation have been lifted. Citizens of the Philippines can now proceed to the VFS Global Visa Center to submit visa applications.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary visits the Philippines

The Honorable István Jakab, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary visited the Philippines on 10-19 November 2021. The delegation of the Hungarian legislature was the first foreign delegation received in the Senate of the Philippines since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship - Call for Applications

The Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship was established by the Hungarian Government for those who live in a Hungarian diaspora outside of Europe and wish to study at a Hungarian higher education institution to develop their personal, professional and cultural relations to Hungary. The Third Session of the Hungary-Philippines Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation (JCEC) was held on 19 October 2021 in Budapest. The Committee is Co-chaired by the Deputy State Secretary for Export Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Mr. István Joó and the Undersecretary of the Trade Promotion Group of the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, Mr. Ceferino S.
