The Embassy of Hungary in the Philippines successfully hosted the annual Stipendium Hungaricum Orientation and Alumni Day on July 30, 2026. The event brought together new scholarship awardees, alumni, representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and delegates from universities across the Philippines, marking the most successful edition to date.
We would like to inform you about the following: Within the framework of the Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Program under the management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, a separate summer university application opportunity was also announced on the program's website in December 2024 (https://diasporascholarship.hu/en/). The application period for the Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Program Summer University will end on February 28, 2025.

The Implementation legislation of the new Immigration Law in Hungary entered into force. Hence, appointments for long-term residence permit application submission are now open with the VFS in Makati and in Cebu. Appointments can be made here: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/phl/en/hun/ Please note that applications have to be submitted via new application forms, which can be accessed from the homepage of the Immigration of Hungary http://oif.gov.hu/index.php?lang=en by clicking on the "Residency in Hungary ” option at the top left corner. Applications submitted using the old forms will not be accepted! The website of the Immigration of Hungary contains a brief description of each residency purpose and the list of documents to be submitted as well as the downloadable application forms. The Immigration of Hungary is continuously updating its homepage, therefore please check regularly the above mentioned homepage for new information.
