Dr. József Bencze officially opened the country's newest honorary consulate in Cebu on 16 May 2018. The office of Honorary Consul Enrilen Joy Benedicto-Tan will build new bridges between Hungary and the Visayas.
Hungary opens Honorary Consulate-General in Angeles City, Pampanga
The Honorary Consulate-General of Hungary in Angeles City, Pampanga began operation on 11 May 2018. The new Honorary Consulate-General of Hungary in Angeles will be led by Consul-General ad honorem Mr. Alfonso S. Yuchengco III, who has been representing Hungary for more than 20 years in the Philippines as Consul-General.

New payment procedures to serve you better
Effective February 5, 2018, all consular (including visa) fee payments will only be possible through bank deposit with the inclusion of the reference number provided by the Consulate. The inclusion of this date is service for which the bank will collect a service fee of 100 pesos in cash from the customer in addition to the relevant consular fee.
Unveiling of the historical marker commemorating José Rizal in Hungarian
On the 121st anniversary of the execution of José Rizal, the Embassy of Hungary officially unveiled a historical marker with the Hungarian translation of the Philippine hero’s last poem. Honoring the sacrifice of the Philippine hero, Ambassador József Bencze personally translated the poem into his native Hungarian.
